Science AND Magic - Funnybones

Yes, she is named afer the childrens' book series about skeletons that live in a dark dark town.

Okay, now into the meat of things.

Funnybones is a Delta Charizard who has been alive (or, 'alive') for a few hundred years at this point, and is a little detached from the rest of society. She's aro/ace, but has managed to get the kind of family she thought was always expected of her, on her own terms. She's married to a Kordil, Mitzy, and has a son, Edgelord - she made Edgelord by piecing together scrap body parts she had in her lab, and is gradually replacing bit of Mitzy with cyborg parts to make him as 'immortal' as her.

You see what I mean about the detachemnt?

In a more pracical vein, I'm really proud with how she's put together. She's effectively ball-jointed, though the texture of crochet means her limbs don't really move that much. Her torso is entirely hollow, with just the flames in the middle. I managed that, and the wings, by stuffing any of the bone channels with pipe cleaners. In general, I object to putting any kind of hard material on my toys (aside from the occasional button), but I've found that since pipe cleaners have that fluff around them, you can't really feel the wire. Although the pipe cleaners aren't exactly the strongest support system, they do the job well enough, and it's not like my other toys are rock solid, so Funnybones fits right in.
